First Derivatives, a financial software and consulting company, has announced on Tuesday the appointment of Thomas Seifert as a non-executive director of the group.
This senior-level hiring has been made to deliver continued business growth of the firm, specifically to accelerate the adoption of the Group’s Kx streaming Analytics technology platform in sectors adjacent to and outside of its capital markets heritage. And Seifert’s broad experience in the technology and cybersecurity will help the firm achieve this.
Commenting on his new role, Seifert said: “FD is an exciting company with market-leading products that have the potential to deliver rapid growth. As a Non-Executive Director, I look forward to contributing to the Group’s growth strategy and helping it to achieve its full potential.”
Knows the business around cybersecurity and data analytics
Seifert is the chief financial officer at Cloudflare, a platform offering security and performance services to websites. There he is also responsible for the company’s business data analytics and data science.
The press release highlighted that his experience across the Cloud , SaaS, and data analytics is highly relevant fo the First Derivatives' growth ambitions.
He was also the chief financial officer at Symantec Corp, a cybersecurity company, and was responsible for the implementation of transformation and merger and acquisition strategies. Apart from that, he also held a similar role at Advanced Micro Devices, where he held an interim CEO position.
