Convergex, an agency-centered brokerage and trading related services provider, has appointed Jason Emerson as its newest Managing Director and Head of Operations and Strategic Planning, according to a Convergex statement.
In this new role, Mr. Emerson will be responsible for managing the group’s operational initiatives. His appointment, which is tendered with immediate effect, will also see him added to Convergex’s executive committee, placing him at the epicenter of the company’s overall business strategy.
Mr. Emerson joins Convergex with over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. He most recently worked as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at GAIN Capital with additional stops at Knight Capital Group (KCG), Instinet, Merrill Lynch and PricewaterhouseCoopers
According to Eric Noll, Convergex President and CEO, in a recent statement on the appointment: "We are very fortunate to have Jason join the Convergex team as he is very well-respected within the financial community."
“His vast knowledge of the financial industry and his ability to oversee and execute on strategic initiatives will further strengthen Convergex's position as a market innovator," he added.
The hire of Mr. Emerson comes on the back end of a number of other moves at Convergex, including the most recent appointment of Jon Simblist to its Options team as its Managing Director. Moreover, back in July, the group named Frederick Arnold as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who has since been tasked with the oversight of all of Convergex’s global financial operations.
