Credit Agricole has bolstered its eFX unit with the addition of Stefan Hamberger, who lands at the group as its newest Managing Director and Global Product Manager – eFX, Finance Magnates has learned.

In his new role as a Managing Director and Global Product Manager, Mr. Hamberger will be based out of London, focusing on developing Credit Agricole’s eFX product lineup as well as its infrastructure – he steps into the role with immediate effect.
The appointment at Credit Agricole is the first since last month when Sebastien Domanico joined the lender from Societe Generale as its Global Head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM) in May. Despite the recent additions however, many leading lenders have experienced rampant job cuts or massive restructurings in their personnel over the past six months.
Mr. Hamberger joins Credit Agricole from Commerzbank, following nearly a decade with the group. He originally started at Commerzbank back in 2006 as its Head of FX Bank Sales – this subsequently paved the way for a promotion to Global Head of FX Bank and eFX sales, as well as the head of eFIC sales.
Additional stops also include BNP Paribas, where he manned the FX sales desk, part of a lengthy career extending back to 1995.
