Deutsche Bank Appoints Oliver Schiller as Co-Head of Natural Resources Group

Today, Reuters reported that Deutsche Bank announced the onboarding of Oliver Schiller as Co-Head of Natural Resources Group. The bank also announced the promotions of Warren Estey and Greg Sommer as Head of Americas and Co-Head of Natural Resources Group, respectively. Mr. Schiller and Mr. Sommer will step into their roles effective early September 2017, according to one of the company’s memos.

Schiller served as Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Chemicals at Goldman Sachs. At Germany’s central bank, he will be working in Frankfurt. Before he joined Goldman Sachs, Mr. Schiller held the role of Lead Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton for nearly two years between July 1995 and May 1997. Back then, he was stationed in the Munich area, according to his LinkedIn account.

Sommer, who will be working side by side with Schiller, previously served as the Managing Director and Head of Energy Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) for Americas at Deutsche Bank Securities. He joined Deutsche Bank after working at Citigroup for thirteen years, during which time he held a similar role as Head of Energy M&A and Managing Director.

Estey, the new Head of Americas, held the role of Co-Head of United States Equity Capital Markets prior to his recent promotion. Before he joined Deutsche Bank, he served at leadership roles at Bank of America. He served his country as an Armor Officer in the United States Army.

Recently, Deutsche Bank enhanced his wealth management staff by 25%, following its plan to go into the Middle East with a special emphasis on Saudi Arabia.
