HIVE Blockchain Technologies announced today that Diana Biggs, CEO of Valour and incoming Chief Strategy Officer of DeFi Technologies, has joined the Board of Directors of HIVE Blockchain Switzerland AG. According to the company, Biggs will join Johanna Thornblad on the board of HIVE Switzerland.
In an official announcement, HIVE mentioned that the extensive experience of Biggs will support the company’s growth. HIVE recently published its quarterly results and reported significant growth in revenue and net income.
Biggs has a strong presence in the global financial sector. Prior to joining Valour, she worked as Global Head of Innovation for HSBC Private Banking. Previous roles of Biggs include VP, Head of Growth and Partnerships at Uphold, Chief Strategy Officer of Soko, and Management Consultant with Oliver Wyman Financial Services.

In the recent announcement, HIVE highlighted the broad experience of Biggs in the digital asset ecosystem. She was appointed CEO of Valour, a division of DeFi Technologies in November 2020. Valour offers various services to facilitate investors including exchange-traded products.
“Valour currently offers ETNs in Europe that allow investors to gain exposure to digital assets, including Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), Ethereum (ETH), Polkadot (DOT) and Bitcoin (BTC). In September Valour surpassed $200M USD in assets under management, up 2,000% in 2021,” HIVE mentioned.
Furthermore, Biggs is an Associate Fellow with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where she is a guest lecturer on digital assets and blockchain technology. Commenting on the appointment, Biggs said: “I’m excited to further our partnership with HIVE, while working closely with Johanna on future opportunities in the DeFi space.”
