Diginex, a Blockchain and digital services platform, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Vicki Tan as its head of compliance.

Based in Singapore, Tan will be responsible for the build-out of Diginex’s regulatory footprint in the city-state, along with additional responsibility for supporting the global business from a risk perspective.

She is bringing almost 20 years of financial industry experience to her new role with extensive knowledge of risk and compliance management.

Commenting on her new role in the blockchain startup, Tan said: “I’m delighted to join a firm who views risk from an institutional perspective; Diginex is a leader in this field. The regulation of digital assets is a focus for many legislative bodies globally, but I believe that Singapore is leading the way. It’s exciting to be part of a company that is driving the dialogue on industry and regulatory standards in this innovative market.”

A financial industry veteran

Tan is joining Diginex from DNB ASA, where she was heading the team responsible for risk and compliance in Asia. There she supervised compliance and risk management efforts of the company, including operational, credit, markets, and Liquidity risk, as well as driving regulatory projects and implementation in both Asia and internationally.

She also held leadership and senior roles in ANZ, RBS, Credit Suisse, and JP Morgan.

Meanwhile, Diginex is on a hiring spree and has made multiple high-profile appointments. Prior to Tan, the company hired Thibault Verbiest as head of regulatory affairs for Europe and Africa, while onboarding its new COO last month.

“Compliance and regulatory oversight is core to all that we do at Diginex. Vicki joins us as we continue to expand our operations in Singapore, and her background and experience will be crucial to our commitment to foster a secure and regulated environment for investors of digital assets,” Richard Byworth, CEO at Diginex, said, welcoming Tan.
