Laurent Bellieres, the chief risk officer at Dukascopy, has left the Swiss multi-asset brokerage after almost 12 years of his service.

He has taken a new role as the chief financial officer and head of risk at Hinduja Bank (Switzerland). He has joined the Geneva-headquartered bank earlier this month, his LinkedIn profile shows.

Bellieres is leaving Dukascopy after a long tenure in multiple leadership roles. His latest position was as its chief risk officer and he was overseeing multiple tasks including the broker’s compliance, risk control function, high-risk client on-boarding, and even act as its correspondence with regulators.

He was also the chief financial officer, along with his role as chief risk officer, of the Swiss brokerage firm for many years.

Apart from the compliance and financial roles, he also served as Dukascopy’s chief operations officer for a year and led its international expansion into the Asian markets.

Bellieres joined the Swiss broker in 2008 as a consultant and was advising the top management on banking licenses before taking over the leadership roles.

A financial veteran with decades of experience

He is an expert in the financial industry and spent the last 24 years in various companies.

Prior to joining Dukascopy, he was the head of internal audit at Kredietbank (Suisse) SA where he was responsible for “risk analysis, planning, and Execution of the internal audits.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, he started his career at DIGICALL SA and later moved to Ernst & Young and KPMG, two of the big-four audit giants.

His certification on audit and banking regulations from Chambre Fiduciaire Suisse and an MBA degree also explains his expertise in the financial industry.

Meanwhile, last month Dukascopy followed its peers to post record figures for the first half of 2020 due to the COVID-19-induced market Volatility .
