Equiti Group, a well-known name in the retail and institutional brokerage sector, has promoted Hamad Haider as the Global Chief Legal Officer. Based in Dubai, he was previously holding the position of Global Head of Legal.

Haider joined the broker in September 2020, primarily to support its growth plans. His responsibilities included the expansion of the group’s legal team, among a few other non-legal decision-making tasks.

He comes with a strong legal background and more than 15 years of experience.

Before entering the trading industry, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the big four audit firms, for more than four-and-a-half years. He joined that company as a Partner and later became the Middle East Head of International Business Recognition, first based in Dubai and then in London.

Haider started his legal practice in Karachi, Pakistan in mid-2006. He moved to Dubai, according to his Linkedin profile, in mid-2011 to join Al Tamimi & Company as a Senior Associate for Corporate Commercial.

An Expanding Broker

Equiti has widened its global operations with its presence in the United Kingdom, the UAE, the United States, New Zealand, Jordan, Kenya, Latin America, Cyprus and Armenia. Additionally, the company is aggressively strengthening its leadership team with new executives.

Last month, the company appointed Christoffer Rosenkilde Nielsen, a former Chief Information Officer at Euronext Securities, as the new Chief Technology Officer. On top of that, the UK arm of the broker added industry veteran Steve Reeves to the board as a Non-Executive Drector.

Moreover, the broker is focused on broadening its offerings. It extensively expanded cryptocurrency CFDs offerings, becoming one of the brokers with the largest crypto CFDs offerings in the industry. Furthermore, it started to offer MetaTrader 5 as a trading platform to its clients earlier this year.
