Euronext, a leading European trading venue operator, announced on Thursday that the Board of Directors of Borsa Italiana and the Supervisory Board of Euronext N.V. have jointly nominated Fabrizio Testa as the CEO of Borsa Italiana, Head of Fixed Income trading for the Group and a member of the Managing Board of Euronext N.V.
According to the press release, his nomination is subject to regulatory and shareholders approval, which, if granted, will see Raffaele Jerusalmi stepping down from his position as CEO of Borsa Italiana effective November 28 by mutual consent. “After 11 years as CEO of Borsa Italiana, I would like to thank all my colleagues for their hard work, which has allowed the Borsa Italiana Group to have leading capabilities in innovation, growth and value creation while maintaining a highly reliable capital market infrastructure for the benefit of all our international financial community. E, BTP Italia, are just few examples of successful innovative services launched in the last 11 years. We were a pioneer on the ESG front, as the first Exchange to launch a sustainability day for listed companies and investors, and we are proud of our Finance for Art project and the charity activity of our Foundation,” Jerusalmi commented.
In the same announcement, Euronext said that Angelo Proni was appointed by the Board of Directors of MTS as the new CEO of MTS and will take office after the approval of the 2021 financial results by MTS’ Board of Directors in Q1 of 2022.

The announcement comes in the context of Euronext’s efforts to grow its business in Italy and across Europe, and ‘to enhance the financing of the real economy.’
