Finance Magnates learned on Tuesday that Charlie White-Thomson has joined Saxo Markets UK as a non-executive director.

β€œWe are pleased to welcome Charlie to [our board]," said Andrew Edwards, the CEO of Saxo Markets UK.

"He is a highly accomplished senior executive and will further strengthen our business as we continue to grow by onboarding a record number of new trading clients, as well as leveraging our technology by entering into wholesale partnerships with financial institutions and other fintechs.”

White-Thomson spent the bulk of his career at Credit Suisse and joined the investment bank back in 1998.

Experienced hands

During his time at the firm, he held a number of different roles in the group's Equities trading division, including a four-year stint in Moscow as head of equities to Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.

White-Thomson left Credit Suisse in 2015, after spending the prior three years as head of cash equity sales to Europe and co-head of emerging European equity franchise.

β€œI am delighted to join the board of Saxo Markets UK and feel strongly about the strategic direction and the dynamic environment that Saxo is operating in," said White-Thomson.

"The prospects for Saxo are positive and I very much look forward to contributing to the ambitious journey ahead."
