Coinify, the Danish Blockchain payment service provider, has onboarded Mikael Breinholst, former CEO and Co-Founder of Tradeworks, to lead the development efforts of its Trading Platform .
In this role, Breinholst is responsible for managing the expansion of the business by deploying best practices from the online trading world into development projects and investment opportunities. His focus will be on shaping the firm’s relationships with industry entities to accelerate trading business, as well as securing customers and white-label clients to Coinify's trading platform.
Having spent twenty years within the financial, media and telecom industries, Mikael is well positioned to play a key role in Coinify’s transformation. He brings a wealth of experience for the Copenhagen-headquartered startup with the mission to bridge the gap between emerging blockchain and traditional finance industries.
Breinholst will help Coinify examine key benefits it can obtain from mainstream financial markets and then offer recommendations for aligning its established standards to the cryptocurrency trading space.
Prior to co-founding fintech company Tradeworks in 2013, Mikael was Global Product Manager and Head of Product Communications at Saxo Bank, a tenure that provided him with deep industry insight into the FX brokerage sector.
As Finance Magnets reported last week, he was replaced by Thomas Pedersen who was appointed CEO of Tradeworks after having been an early investor in the company since 2015.
Established in 2014, Coinify serves global payment service providers, online businesses, physical shops and individuals with easy access to blockchain currencies through its money exchange services.
Commenting on his appointment, Mikael Breinholst said: “I have been following Coinify for a [sic] several years and have watched them successfully expand within the payment processing and trading space. I am proud to join a fantastic team of talented and dedicated people, and I look forward to help drive Coinify to the forefront of the virtual currency trading space."
Coinify CEO and Co-Founder, Mark Højgaard, added: "It is very exciting to welcome Mikael to the team. With Mikael's leadership and formidable experience from the global financial markets, we are confident that he will help us succeed in current and future projects."
