Fidessa Group Plc (LSE: FDSA) has appointed Andy Skelton as its newest Chief Financial Officer (CFO), whose move is effective from October 26, 2015.
Mr. Skelton will be replacing Andy Malpass, Fidessa’s acting CFO who previously announced that he will be relinquishing his post on the aforementioned date, paving the way for a succession. Despite the move, Mr. Malpass will remain an executive director until the announcement of Fidessa’s 2015 preliminary results in February 2016.
Mr. Skelton joins Fidessa from CSR plc, a semiconductor company, having served as its Deputy CFO until its recent Acquisition by Qualcomm Incorporated. Additional stops include Ericsson, where he worked in a number of senior level finance roles.
According to John Hamer, Chairman of Fidessa, in a recent statement on the appointment, "Andy is a very high calibre individual with strong finance and commercial skills alongside substantial experience in the technology sector. Andy will be an exceptional addition to our management team and is ideally suited to help lead Fidessa in the next phase of its development."
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy Malpass for his outstanding contribution to Fidessa over the past 20 years. Andy has helped to lead Fidessa through a period of exceptional growth and development and the board is very grateful to Andy for his many years of dedicated service, and we all wish him well for the future," he added.
Fidessa is a UK platform and financial services technology developer that operates globally. The group made headlines last month after Toyo Securities, an independent securities company headquartered in Tokyo, selected Fidessa as its new wholesale agency trading system.
