First Derivatives, a provider of software and consulting services, has augmented its board personnel, adding Jon Robson as its newest Non-Executive Director, who joins with immediate effect, according to a First Derivatives report.
Mr. Robson joins the board with a vast wealth of experience as an executive and independent director in the capital markets industry. The move follows on the heels of another appointment as the Chief Executive of Relationship Science Inc, a data-driven corporate relationship development organization.
Past experience also includes stints as the CEO of NYSE Technologies and an executive at Thomson Reuters Inc. between 2003 and 2012, having served as President of the Enterprise Division as well as CEO of Reuters Americas.
In terms of other executive roles, Mr. Robson has held directorships at Intercapital Limited, ICAP PLC, Moneyline Telerate, MoneylineTelerate (UK) Ltd, and Omgeo, among others.
According to Seamus Keating, Chairman of Financial Derivatives, in a recent statement on the appointment, "Jon's breadth of global capital markets sector experience and industry relationships will be a very valuable asset as we continue to grow and develop FD."
"I am delighted to join the board of FD at this exciting time for the company. I have been impressed by the quality and ambition of the organization for many years and I look forward to the next phase of growth," added Mr. Robson in an accompanying statement.
First Derivatives has had a muted Q2 2015, with its latest development coming earlier this year when the company announced that it has acquired software-development company ActivateClients Limited for $5.2 million (€4.75 million). The move was aimed at boosting First Derivatives’ software platform as ActivateClients helped provide a set of additional software products with HTML5 being mentioned explicitly as a technology.
