Michael Buzzeo, a longtime Marketing specialist at FXCM, has landed at Pond5 as its newest Director of Performance Marketing in a new senior role with the New York-based online marketplace, Finance Magnates has learned.

Mr. Buzzeo steps into his new role with immediate effect. Pond5 is a media company and online marketplace specializing in imaging, graphics, and music. In this capacity he will be based out of the Greater New York City area.

His appointment at Pond5 follows on the heels of a lengthy career at foreign Exchange brokerage FXCM, where he held several senior roles dating back to 2004. Mr. Buzzeo initially joined FXCM as an Email Marketing Manager. He subsequently rose through the ranks, ultimately being promoted to Senior Manager and Database Marketing in 2005, a role he held for two years.

More recently, he also held roles as its Director of Website and Database Marketing as well as Director of Advertising, all whilst based out of New York. The bulk of his career at FXCM has been dedicated to his role as Head of International Marketing, which he held for over seven years beginning in 2010.

In this role, he helped lead FXCM’s internal marketing divisions and external partners with a number of core responsibilities to manage the group’s global brand, as well as penetrating new markets, expanding core revenue centers, and maximizing existing business output.

Prior to joining FXCM in 2004, Mr. Buzzeo held roles outside the FX industry as a Technology Director and Teacher at Lawrence Woodmere Academy and a Sales Engineer at Cambridge Computer Sciences in 2000, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
