Fortex seems committed to expanding its business in Latin America after announcing the company’s newest hire. The ECN platform that has been executing about $12 billion daily in trading volumes is increasing its focus on the LATAM region as it onboards former Director of Sales, Markets and Relationship Management at Thomson Reuters, Paulina Osorio Pérez.
Fortex is appointing Pérez as its new Director of Sales for the Latin American market. While working at Thomson Reuters, Mrs. Pérez strengthened the company’s franchise in Mexico and forged several partnerships between Mexican clients and US banks.
Before joining Thomson Reuters in Mexico, Paulina Osorio Pérez held several roles at HSBC’s Global Banking & Markets unit. She worked on both the trading and sales desks where she executed day-to-day foreign Exchange and money market trades for clients of the bank.
Commenting on the new hire, Daniel Chen, CEO and co-founder of Fortex, said: “Not only does Paulina bring a range of FX expertise and experience in driving growth, she is also deeply familiar with the FX trading market in Mexico. We expect her to be a key player on our team to execute our growth strategy in Latin America.”
Mrs Pérez will be working out of the company’s office in Mexico City.
