FXSpotStream, which provides a multibank FX aggregation service for spot FX trading, has strengthened its legal team with the appointment of Ross Smith as a legal consultant. Announced on Thursday, the new hiring came in preparation to support the upcoming launch of the company’s Algo and Allocation functionalities.
Smith is a legal expert with two decades of experience working at several firms, handling their legal matters. With his appointment, FXSpotStream is aiming to maximize the efficiency of clients integrating with the platform.
A Legal Expert in the Field of FX
“Ross has a rich FX background,” FXSpotStream stated in a statement.
Before FXSpotStream, he was the Head of Legal at New York-based 360TGTX Inc and worked there for two and a half years.
Additionally, he served as the General Counsel at GTX Bermuda for almost eight years. Among many responsibilities there, he primarily handled the registration of NFA-regulated swap dealers and CFTC -regulated swap Execution facility, according to his Linkedin profile.
Moreover, he spent almost six years at ICAP North America as an in-house Senior Counsel of the inter-dealer broker. He handled the legality of several acquisitions at the firm and drafted and negotiated agreements for electronic trading platforms, software licenses and several other operational activities.
Before joining the mammoths in the trading industry, he spent significant time working and practicing at several law firms. He worked as an Associate at Bourne, Noll & Kenyon, Reed Smith LLP and Robinson, St. John $ Wayne.
Already being a leading FX aggregation services provider, FXSpotStream is expanding its services with the addition of FX Algo strategies and FX Allocation services that will be offered via its API. The company is expecting to have its first client for these new services by the end of June.
