Global Market Index UK (GMIUK) recently announced that it has elevated Zaid AlKhatib to the position of Chief Operations Officer, and promoted Mohamed El-Fishawy to Head of Operations.
Finance Magnates recently discovered that Zaid Alkhatib, a certified financial services professional with more than eleven years of experience, has been promoted by GMI, a provider of liquidity solutions and trading accounts, to the position of Chief Operations Officer, and Mohamed El-Fishawy, a business developer/client relationship manager, was raised to the Head of Operations.
Alkhatib’s Background
Prior to the new role as COO, Alkhatib has held a few other positions at GMIUK including his most recent post as the MLRO SMF17 as well as Executive Director and Head of operations and Compliance, all within the last eighteen months, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Earlier on, FXVC Online Trading benefitted from his experience as Head Of Operations. Although the stint was just short of a year, he successfully navigated main operations, which consisted of overseeing the back office, customer support, risk and payment functions and liaising with compliance and the MLRO department among other duties.
Before that at Finstek, he took on the responsibilities as Head of Operations in Cyprus. In this role, part of his duties involved overseeing the onboarding of client accounts and was in charge of the ongoing development of internal policies, processes and procedures.
Also, Windsor Brokers sourced Alkhatib’s skills as the Back Office and Payment Operations Manager.
In addition, he spent more than seven years with Orbex, which is where he began his career. His last position was Chief Operating Officer where he spent a year. The company promoted him from Back Office & Support Manager and ahead of that he began as a Senior Customer Service Executive in July 2010.
El-Fishawy’s Career History
El-Fishawy moved up very recently as well as he joined only in July this year as the Senior Business Development Manager and has been awarded his promotion.
Along with Alkhatib, El-Fishawy worked at Finstek from 2019 as the Head of Business Development and Client Relationship. He took charge of the client relationship plan and strategy for the MENA region. Further, he maintained relationships with clients in the Arabic/Gulf region, attracted a new customer base, built relationships with personal connections and direct contacts.
Moreover, GMI Edge recruited El-Fishawy to the post of Business Development and Client Relationship Manager. Located in Malaysia, he took charge of business development and supported clients in South East Asia and in the Middle East. Additionally, he drove the business roadmap for the region including gathering requirements, planning, development and achieving targets.
At an earlier time, he joined elves as a Customer Support and Sales Agent and spent a year at the company.
Vodafone utilised El-Fishawy’s knowledge and experience as an International Customer Support and Sales Advisor for two years.
