HKEX, Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited, announced today that it has appointed Adam Singer, former Head of Core Compliance and Operational Risk Asia Pacific at JPMorgan, as the Group’s new Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
According to an official announcement by the Group, the appointment of Singer will strengthen the compliance structure of HKEX. Singer will join the Group in September. He will report to the Group’s Chief Risk Officer Richard Wise. Additionally, Singer will become a member of the management committee of HKEX.
Singer has more than 20 years of experience in the global financial sector. He joined JPMorgan in 1999 and spent nearly two decades in different roles within the bank. In his latest role, Singer served as Managing Director, Head of Core Compliance and Operational Risk Asia Pacific at the bank. Singer was responsible for central compliance functions at JPMorgan.
Commenting on the latest announcement, HKEX Chief Executive Nicolas Aguzin, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Adam to the HKEX family. He has more than 20 years of experience, and his expertise will be invaluable to us as we continue to strengthen and advance Hong Kong’s role as an international financial center.”
The newly appointed CCO completed his MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. He also completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Applied Mathematics from McGill University.
HKEX Executives
In May 2021, HKEX announced the appointment of Nicolas Aguzin as its Chief Executive. The Group named Richard Wise as its Chief Risk Officer in 2020. “Mr Singer will work across HKEX to lead and oversee, the Group’s compliance function, further strengthening the Group’s compliance practice. Mr Singer will join HKEX in September and will report to Richard Wise, Group Chief Risk Officer. Mr Singer will also become a member of the Group’s Management Committee,” the Group mentioned in an official announcement.
