Matthew Macklin, a foreign exchange (Forex ) professional has returned to IG, a UK-based online brokerage, to be the firm’s Head of UK. According to information made public on his LinkedIn profile, he has begun his new role this October.

Back in August, Finance Magnates reported that Macklin had stepped down as Head of Europe from CMC Markets in a regulatory filing, which the broker confirmed at the time. However, no details were given about where he would be heading to next or why he left.

Macklin originally joined the firm in September 2012. According to his profile on Bloomberg, he was the Head of European Distribution at the firm or Head of Europe as his LinkedIn suggests. Initially, Macklin was recruited to manage the broker’s United Kingdom client facing operation. In early 2013, he was given the responsibility for the European and Canadian offices.

Matthew Macklin’s History With IG

While it is still not clear if Macklin left CMC Markets for IG, it seems that he left the broker to pursue different opportunities. Nonetheless, this move sees him returning to IG, a provider of online contracts for differences (CFDs), spread betting and Forex Trading , which is where Macklin began his career in 2004.
