Interactive Brokers, a Nasdaq-listed (IBKR) global brokerage firm, announced the joining of Cecelia Zhong as Executive Director today. Zhong has more than 10 years of experience in the global financial sector.
In an official announcement, Interactive Brokers mentioned that Zhong joined the company on 6 September. The newly appointed Executive Director will be responsible for the growth and expansion of Interactive Brokers in China.
Zhong is based in the Hong Kong office of Interactive Brokers. She will report to David Friedland, Managing Director-Asia Pacific Operations at Interactive Brokers. In April 2021, Interactive Brokers announced the appointment of Michael McClain as its new Director of Client Operations in North America.
Before joining Interactive Brokers, Zhong worked with different leading financial organizations around the world. Zhong held positions with NYSE Euronext where she was responsible for setting up the Exchange ’s business hub in Hong Kong for Greater China. In addition, Zhong worked with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX).

Expansion in Asia
In the recent announcement, Interactive Brokers outlined that the company is planning to enhance its presence in Asia and specifically in China and Hong Kong through the appointment of Cecelia Zhong.

Zhong is a CFA charter holder. She completed her MBA in Finance from Edinburgh Business School in the UK.
