Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), a global web of exchanges and Clearing houses, has made two new senior level appointments to its London operations, including Chris Rhodes and Gordon Bennett.

Last month, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) appointed Mary John Miller as its Director of the ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA). Ms. Miller was formerly the under secretary for domestic finance at the US Treasury, having also joined the IBA as chairperson on behalf of the nominating committee.

ICE’s two new appointments will serve its global derivatives markets - Chris Rhodes has been named Head of Interest Rates and Gordon Bennett the Managing Director, Utility Markets, both at ICE Futures Europe respectively.

In his new role as the head of ICE’s interest rates operations, Mr. Rhodes will be reporting to Chris Edmonds, Senior Vice President, ICE Financial Markets, where he will be tasked with strengthening and expanding ICE’s European interest rate contracts including Euribor, Short Sterling and Gilt futures and options.

Conversely, Mr. Bennett will oversee for ICE’s sales and business development as its newest managing director, relegated to the European natural gas, power and emissions markets – he will also be reporting to Mr. Edmonds.

“We are delighted to appoint two highly experienced and respected market specialists to these new roles at ICE Futures Europe. They will bring a wealth of experience to our global derivatives markets and support our efforts to serve our customer’s evolving requirements at a time of continuous change,” said David Peniket, President and Chief Operating Officer, ICE Futures Europe.
