Jon Friend is parting ways with ActivTrades after a lengthy career as Compliance Director with the multi-asset brokerage firm, according to a recent regulatory filing.
Mr. Friend was one of the longest serving at ActivTrades, having joined the group in London office back in 2011.

In this capacity, he was integral in managing ActivTrades’s compliance strategy, along with the implementation of its policy initiatives. During his nearly 7-year tenure, Jon’s duties included reviewing, planning and directing the company's compliance and regulatory requirements in line with its commitment to ensuring adherence to FCA controls.
Compliance officers have an important consumer protection role as they are responsible for making sure that the businesses that they oversee comply with regulatory requirements and standards.
Mr. Friend has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, mostly based out of London.
Before joining ActivTrades, he served in various roles including as Compliance Manager at WH Ireland, a position he held for more than three years.
One of his earliest and longest stops was at the supervision department at the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where was employed for six three years, dating back to 2001.
ActivTrades has recently embarked on a number of initiatives for its clients. Finance Magnates last reported on ActivTrades back in December when the FCA-regulated firm launched a list of new contracts, including Bitcoin , Litecoin, and Ethereum. The company is offering the new crypto CFDs via its proprietary Trading Platform ActivTrader, MetaTrader 4 and 5 on desktop, tablet and mobile.
