Vis Raghavan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division of JPMorgan, according to a Reuters report.

Register now to the London Summit 2017, Europeโ€™s largest gathering of top-tier retail brokers and institutional FX investors

He is currently the deputy CEO of the same division. In his new position he will manage private, corporate and investment banking as well as the bank's asset management business in the EMEA region.

Raghavan joined JPMorgan from Lehmann Brothers in 2000 and has since held a variety of positions at the firm.

He will be reporting to Daniel Pinto, who is the global head of the investment and corporate banking divisions of JPMorgan, and also to Mary Erdoes, who is the chief executive of asset management.

It can be noted that 6 months ago, Daniel Pinto was given additional responsibilities as joint global head of operations and technology, as COO Matt Zames left the company.

The bank said that Raghavan will also become the CEO of JP Morgan Securities Plc. It is believed that the change shows the intent of JPMorgan to focus more on technology as it responds to changes in the industry.
