Institutional trading network, Liquidnet, has secured the services of Tony Cheung, who joins the company as its newest Head of Quantitative Analytics , according to a Liquidnet statement.
In his new role as the Head of Quantitative Analytics, Mr. Cheung will be based out of Liquidnet’s Hong Kong branch, where he will be tasked with leading Liquidnet’s analytics in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Moreover, his focus will be relegated to Liquidnet’s buy-side members with targeted insight and analysis on their trades. He will be reporting to Liquidnet’s Head of APAC, Lee Porter, and to the group’s Head of Quantitative Sales and Analytics, Akis Georgiou.
Mr. Cheung joins Liquidnet from BNP Paribas, having worked out of its Hong Kong branch as its Head of Product Management for Electronic Trading. Before BNP Paribas, he also worked at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), where he helped design and implement a series of algorithms and analytical tools.
According to Mr. Porter in a recent statement on the hiring, “The appointment of Tony to the Liquidnet team in Asia Pacific is another significant step for our growth in the region, which will provide our Members with a new level of analytics and insight to support best Execution , as well as commentary on market micro structure evolution,” said Porter.
