London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) announced on Monday the appointment of Ivan Gilmore as the new Head of Cash Equities for LCH, Ltd and SA. He was previously the Head of Securities Trading with the group.

According to the press release, Gilmore will be responsible for the development and management of both businesses. He will oversee the clearing of cash equities products.

“I am excited to get started in this new role,” Gilmore said. “We have an ambitious agenda as a group.”

“I am particularly looking forward to working closely with LCH clients to continue to best serve their current and future needs. This in turn will help to develop and grow EquityClear for all our stakeholders over the coming months and years. I also look forward to ensuring LCH continues to innovate and lead in this market.”

Solid Background in Trading

He joined LSEG in 2007, spending more than four years with the group across different leadership roles in securities trading businesses. Additionally, he led product development and client relationship management across several business lines of the group.

Before joining LSEG, Gilmore was with KCG Holdings, heading its ETF client strategy and distribution in the EMEA.

He started his career at ING Barings as an Equity Trader and later moved to Goldman Sachs, where he spent more than seven years. Furthermore, he held leadership roles at DE Shaw, spending a significant amount of his career there.

“This is an exciting time for the group, and I look forward to working with [Ivan] to develop EquityClear further into new markets and in continuing to grow our customer base,” said Isabelle Girolami, CEO LCH Ltd. “We have listened to our customers’ feedback, and in joining our offering more holistically across the two entities, we aim to greatly enhance the value proposition to our clients.”
