Insigneo, a Miami-based independent broker-dealer and registered investment advisory firm, announced on Wednesday that Mariano Scandizzo joined its Investment Committee. According to the press release, he is currently the Head of Insigneo Advisory Services.

For over 20 years, Scandizzo has been working in the investment management and corporate strategy field, including quantitative financial planning and analysis, having worked in Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) by the CFA Institute, with a Certification in Quantitative Finance (CQF) by the CQF Institute.

“Thrilled to have Mariano join our firm’s Investment Committee. He brings a plethora of investment domain knowledge, particularly in the quantitative realm, that will be a valuable complement to the work already being done. This is one more step towards the goal of providing our clients with a first-class institutional investment management value proposition,” Ahmed Riesgo, Chief Investment Officer of Insigneo and Chair of the Investment Committee, commented.

In terms of educational background, Scandizzo holds a postgraduate degree in Finance from Universidad de San Andres and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa. This announcement is part of Insigneo’s strategy to bolster its recruitment efforts amid the growing trend of financial advisors’ leaving the traditional sectors to join the independent sector.

Recent Key Appointments

In June, Insigneo hired Carlos Carreño as its Global AML Officer, a brand new role in the company that seeks to oversee Anti-Money Laundering (AML) ) procedures. The former HSBC Executive will lead the existing firm’s AML team. Before joining Insigneo, Carreño spent part of his professional career in senior roles within regulatory and financial crime compliance teams, such as Regional Chief Compliance Officer at HSBC.

Furthermore, he had a background in working as the Global AML Advisory Managing Director at IPB Citibank, the Senior Regional Managing Director at IWM SunTrust Bank, and the Associate Managing Director at Kroll Inc, Miami.
