FxPro UK Limited, the British subsidiary of FxPro Group, has managed to recruit Marios Demetriades as a Director. According to a regulatory filing through the UK’s Companies House, Demetriades assumed his new position at the retail broker on January 23 of this year.

This new position sees Marios Demetriades return to FxPro. From August 2012 until March 2014, he was a non-executive director at FxPro Group. In this position, he was a non-executive member of the Board and Chairman of Audit Committee.

Now, Demetriades is on the Board of Directors ofFxPro UK Limited. Finance Magnates reached out to Demetriades, who confirmed his new position, adding that he is also on the Board of some of FxPro's companies in Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates.

Demetriades has more than two decades worth of experience in the financial industry. Most notably, he was a politician in Cyprus who was appointed as the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works in the Council of Ministers of Cyprus in 2014.

During his career, he held a number of positions in the financial industry. At present, according to his LinkedIn, he is a Managing Partner at MD Mindset Consulting Ltd, a consultancy and corporate governance firm. He has held this role since April of last year.

Before being the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Demetriades was the Head of Institutional Sales and Custody at Piraeus Bank (Cyprus) Ltd. Here he was employed in this role for slightly over a year from January 2013 until February of the following year.

Prior to this, he held the title of Head Fund Management at the same bank for five years. In his own words, he was the: “Chief Investment Officer for a team of fund managers specializing in regional markets including Greece, Cyprus and other Eastern Med countries."

Earlier on in his career, Demetriades worked as a Supervisor at Ernst & Young and was a Manager for Asset Management at Marfin Laiki Bank. In September of 1993, he began his career as a Trainee Chartered Accountant at BDO.
