Alpha FX Group, a London-based financial services firm announced today that, Matt Knowles, independent Non-Executive Director at Alpha FX will be stepping down from his role in order to take on a more active role of Strategic Advisor with the Group.

In his new role, Knowles will be working with senior management to develop the Group’s strategy while making sure all organisational levels are aligned. He will also advise the Group on new investments.

Knowles brought years of leadership experience at Alpha when he joined the Group in 2018. He previously co-founded HiFX, one of the largest global payment providers. Additionally, he served as CEO of HiFX and helped the company expand into different regions with over 400 employees.

He sold HiFX to Nasdaq listed Euronet in 2014 and later joined TempCap as a venture partner to grow his investor experience by investments in disruptive technologies.

Commenting on the matter, Morgan Tillbrook, CEO at Alpha FX Group, said: "I am very excited to have Matt join us in this capacity and the opportunity for the team and I to work more closely with him. As a co-founder himself, Matt is an entrepreneur by trade and has a wealth of experience in growing and maturing a business.”

“As the business' balance sheet strengthens, how we deploy our capital is becoming ever more important, and we see Matt as a valuable advisor in testing our assumptions and helping us grow the business in the right way and in the right areas. Since our IPO in 2017, we've been privileged to be supported by a fantastic team of non-executives, and we will look to add another independent Director to replace Matt in due course," Tillbrook added.

A Strategic Move

The Group is planning to strengthen the strategic processes including decision making, investment strategy and accountability. Knowles' entrepreneurial background along with a wealth of experience in leadership and strategic investments will help Alpha FX Group achieve desired results. Knowles will play an important role in the Group’s strategic processes, assumptions, decision making and accountability.

Alpha FX Group appointed James Carey as Director of Technology earlier this year.
