Mizuho Securities USA, a US investment-banking subsidiary of the Mizuho Financial Group (NYSE: MFG), has elevated Gerald Rizzieri to the role of President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who steps into the new appointment beginning March 10, according to a Mizuho statement.
Mr. Rizzieri originally joined MSUSA back 2010 and has since served as the group’s Executive Managing Director and Fixed Income Division Head for the past five years. He will be succeeding former President & CEO John Koudouni, who has decided to part ways with the group.
As Mizuho’s Head of Fixed Income, Mr. Rizzieri has played an instrumental role in the development of MSUSA's sales and trading in rates, credit, emerging markets (EM), and securitized products. Prior to joining Mizuho in 2010, he worked for over two decades at Lehman Brothers and Barclays, focusing on bond trading and sales.
According to Mr. Rizzieri in a recent statement on the appointment: "In my new role as President & CEO, I intend to build on our strong foundation and record of success. Our continued expansion of product offerings is a strategic priority. Together with our affiliate, Mizuho Bank, we are committed to providing clients with the most comprehensive array of funding, investment and hedging opportunities."
Mizuho made headlines earlier this month after it appointed Eric Yoss as Chief Risk Officer in an attempt to help steer the group’s Risk Management operations in the Americas. Mr. Yoss has since been tasked with overseeing the strategic direction for all risk and credit management in the group’s Americas business.
