He will head the division along with Yoshitake Manabe. Sanjiv joins Mitsubishi from Deutsche Bank, where he was the Head of Corporate Banking for the Asia Pacific region. Sanjiv had also worked as Country Executive in the Royal Bank of Scotland in their Mumbai Office, and has worked at Citibank as well.

Takayoshi Futae, regional CEO of MUFG, said: “Asia continues to draw much interest from many global corporates, a number of which have set up strategic operations in this region. With our extensive presence here in Asia and Oceania, we are well-positioned to serve our global clients with our regional knowledge and expertise."

“We are a long-term oriented bank and have long-term commitment to this region. It is therefore an opportune time to welcome Sanjiv on board. With this appointment, MUFG hopes to combine Sanjiv’s experience in the industry and its own extensive presence and knowledge of the banking industry in the Asia Pacific region to serve its growing number of corporate clients in this region.
