Johan Torgeby Becomes New Member of the Nasdaq Board of Directors

Nasdaq, Inc. announced that it had appointed Johan Torgeby to its Board of Directors. According to the press release, Torgeby’s placement expands the Board to 11 directors.

Since joining SEB in 2009, Torgeby has held a number of roles within the Large Corporates & Financial Institutions division before being named its Co-Head and a member of the Group Executive Committee in 2014. From 2017, he became the President and CEO of the company.

Former CySEC Chairperson Joins INX Board of Directors

INX, a broker-dealer and owner of crypto trading platforms, announced that it welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors: Demetra Kalogerou and Hillary Kramer.

According to the press release, both new appointees will bolster the company’s strategies for building economic infrastructures and designing new digital financial solutions. Previously, Kalogerou served as the Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) for over a decade, overseeing the capital markets, the asset management sector, the transferable securities market and the investment services sector.

Kramer was a founding member of the Wall Street Journal, Women in Business, a former investment banker at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers and founded and managed long-short hedge funds. She is a best-selling author and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Australian Broker FXTRADING.com Gets New CEO Michael Berman

FXTRADING.com, a Sydney-based Australian foreign exchange brokerage firm, has appointed Michael Berman as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Berman is the Co-Founder of a crypto-focused quantitative high-frequency market-making trading firm, True Alpha Ventures.

Berman announced this emergence as the broker’s Chief Executive on his LinkedIn account.

Until his appointment, Berman was the CEO of Ditto Trade, which was acquired by FXTRADING.com in May 2022.

Australia-based Ditto Trade offers forex, future, stocks and cryptocurrency copy trading to its clients.

BDSwiss Hires Andreas Andreou as Chief Financial Officer

BDSwiss has strengthened its executive team with the latest onboarding of Andreas Andreou as the Chief Financial Officer. He is based in Cyprus and has already taken over the new role, according to his Linked profile.

He is an expert in the financial industry and has stated 'process improvement' as one of his skills for his new role at BDSwiss.

He joined the brokerage firm from the Cyprus division of KPMG, one of the big-four audit giants. He joined the company as a Senior Manager in mid-2015 but left as a Principal, a role which he was holding for the last five years.

In addition, he is a Lecturer at the Institute of Professional Studies at UCLan Cyprus and has been for the last six years. Also, he is likely to continue that role, based on his Linkedin updates.

Did Nikolay Storonsky Leave UK Fintech Revolut?

Nikolay Storonsky, the Co-Founder and CEO of Revolut, one of the fastest-growing financial apps with more than 18 million users worldwide, has reportedly ceased his duties at the company, according to the latest fillings at UK Companies House.

The documents unveiled that he ceased his duties on April 29 this year, although it was revealed publicly just today, with a registered entry date made on the same day. The document issued was a ‘notice of ceasing to be a person with significant control (PSC)’.

According to the UK Companies House, the document should be used to notify Companies House that a person or entity is no longer a Person of Significant Control (PSC), Relevant Legal Entity (RLE), or Other Registrable Person (ORP). Revolut has not publicly confirmed the news of the possible departure of Storonsky.

HKEX Selects Daniel Sonder as Chief Strategy Officer

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) confirmed the appointment of Daniel Sonder, the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at B3, as its Chief Strategy Officer, today. In his new role, Sonder will report to Nicolas Aguzin, Chief Executive Officer of HKEX.

In addition to the appointment of Sonder, HKEX announced the expansion of its Emerging Business Development team with the hiring of Andrew Walton and Ken Chiu. The latest announcement from HKEX came almost 3 weeks after the Group appointed Kian Hoe Tan as the Managing Director and Head of Treasury.

FXCM Hires Paul Gyles as Chief Marketing Officer

FXCM, the retail FX and CFDs broker owned by Jefferies Financial Group, announced on Monday its appointment of Paul Gyles as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer.

In the new role, Gyles will be responsible for driving the branding and marketing strategy for the retail broker.
