Nomura has brought in financial services veteran, Harry Ng, as the newest Head of Nomura Trust Co Ltd and Wealth Planning Strategy & Solutions, for Asia ex-Japan, according to a recent report from Reuters.
Nomura Trust Co Ltd is the banking giant’s Singapore subsidiary – in his new role as its head, Mr. Ng will be focusing on the unit’s overall strategy and product exposure for clientele in the Asian region, excluding Japan. Moreover, he will be tasked with managing the group’s client relationships and estate administration activities, spearheading its trustee services business.
He will be based out of Nomura Trust’s Singapore office, reporting directly to Nomura’s Nobuhiro Sano, Head of Wealth Management, Asia excluding-Japan.
Mr. Ng joins Nomura Trust from Julius Baer, having worked as its Managing Director and Senior Advisor for over a year, part of a lengthy career in wealth management and finance. Additional stops also include Merrill Lynch, where he served in a number of roles dating back to 2003. These include a seventeen-year stint as its Singapore-based Director, as well as other roles in AVP sales.
As recently as last week, Nomura reshuffled its structured products business, appointing John Goff as its Head of Global Markets. The promotion comes after a successful three-year tenure at the Japanese securities house, during which Mr. Goff had overseen and managed the development of Nomura’s structured products platform.
