OANDA, a retail broker with operations around the world, announced that it has onboarded Philip Holemans as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Finance Magnates recently learned in an official press release that Philip Holemans, a veteran with almost three decades of experience and twenty of those years in the financial services industry, has been named by OANDA, a global leader in online Multi-Asset trading services, currency data and Analytics , as its new Chief Financial Officer.
In the role, Holemans will be in charge of optimising OANDA’s financial performance, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and assisting directly with OANDA’s growth strategy.
A Chronicle of Holemans’ Career
Prior to the new position with OANDA, Holemans served WiZink also as its Chief Financial Officer. Located in Madrid, he fulfilled the duties of the role between March 2019 and April 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Earlier to his experience at WiZink, MONETA Money Bank (previously GE Capital) recruited him as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board. For almost three years, he led a team of 120 professionals and was a partner to the CEO driving change, performance and operational excellence.
Before GE Capital changed its name to MONETA, he held a similar position as the Chief Financial Officer of GE Money Bank for around two and a half years. He received a promotion in early 2014 from his earlier role of Chief Financial Officer for Germany and Benelux.
At Stanley Europe, Holemans became the European Supply Chain Controller in March 2002. Over the course of seventeen months, he increased predictability of financial results and compliance for the tax-driven European supply chain structure among other responsibilities.
Previously at GE Fleet Services Europe, he took on the charge of Financial Systems & Project Implementation Leader. For around four years, he standardised and simplified financial processes across Europe with one common chart of accounts and closing process among many other duties.
Also, at IMS Health, he served as the Senior FP&A Analyst IMS International from late 1996 to early 1998.
Further, Caradon Stelrad employed him as a Business Analyst of Caradon Belgium. The responsibilities included weekly sales & production reporting to local management and monthly management reporting to corporate. Moreover, he coordinated annual stock takes & implemented stock valuation tools.
His earliest known position of employment was European Finance Assistant at Johnson Controls Europe. From August 1993, he implemented a new accounting package and was responsible for the day-to-day accounting for European HQ.
