OANDA, a retail broker with operations worldwide, announced on Wednesday that Karl Roessner has been appointed to its Board of Directors as a Non-executive Director. According to the press release, the new hiring will serve his new role from OANDA’s branch in New York.
Prior to joining the retail broker, Roessner has been serving as the CEO of Lefteris Acquisition Corp. Furthermore, he was well-known in the financial industry for having worked as CEO of E*TRADE Financial Corporation and President of E*TRADE Bank.

The executive brings over 17 years of experience within the industry, who worked as a lawyer for Clifford Chance before and after the merger of Rogers & Wells, where he was an associate for over eight years. According to his LinkedIn profile, Roessner has a BBA in Accounting from Siena College and studied at the St. John’s University School of Law.

This onboarding comes almost one month after the retail broker tapped Philip Holemans as its new Chief Financial Officer. In the role, Holemans will be in charge of optimizing OANDA’s financial performance, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and assisting directly with OANDA’s growth strategy.
