OpenPayd announced that it has appointed Barry O’Sullivan as its Head of Payments Infrastructure, effective from January 2022.
Published in an article recently shared with Finance Magnates, Barry O’Sullivan, an executive veteran with more than nineteen years of experience in financial services and technology, has been named by OpenPayd, a global payments and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform, as its Head of Payments Infrastructure.
In the new role, O’Sullivan will take the charge of improving OpenPayd's product offering, adding new payment methods that make it possible for the business to achieve its growth targets.
A Glance at O’Sullivan’s Career History
Prior to the new appointment at OpenPayd, O’Sullivan served as Strategic Payments Director for Kyriba for almost a year.
Before that, he spent a couple of years as a Director of Corporate Payment Solutions for Vitnesse PSP Limited where he built strategic relationships for the organisation.
Earlier to his experience at Vitnesse PSP, O’Sullivan joined the ranks of HIFX (presently known as XE), spending more than eleven years at the establishment in four separate roles. First, at the end of December, he was positioned as a Sales Consultant of Corporate Foreign Exchange Dealing. After around three years, he became a Senior Sales Consultant. After that, he was given the responsibility of working on enterprise sales, mass payments and global payment solutions & strategic partnerships. In January 2016, he received his final promotion as Head of Global Payment Solutions.
O’Sullivan’s earliest known position according to his LinkedIn profile shows that he was a Business Development Executive for IRIS Software Group between October 2003 and December 2007.
First Class Payments and FX Services
OpenPayd provides expert knowledge in connecting to international payment schemes, which has been a key ingredient in its robust growth. However, payment acceptance has been impacted by inconsistent infrastructure. O’Sullivan will be pivotal to enhancing OpenPayd’s global payment processes. He will connect the BaaS platform to all available instant payment schemes.
“I am excited to join OpenPayd and am committed to supporting our customers with a payment infrastructure that delivers first-class payments and FX services helping them to scale globally,” said O’Sullivan.
