Pravjit Tiwana Joins Gemini as Chief Technology Officer

The cryptocurrency platform, Gemini announced that the company has appointed Pravjit Tiwana, an industry veteran with almost two decades of experience in the global technology sector, as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) today.

In his extensive career, Tiwana worked for prominent companies like Microsoft and Disney. He joins Gemini from Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he served in different positions including the General Manager of Edge Services. Tiwana spent more than 6 years at AWS.

In his new role as the CTO of Gemini, Tiwana will lead the company’s engineering and product teams. Using his broad experience in the technology sector, the newly appointed CTO will establish world-class engineering cultures within the company.

“He will help us scale and deliver value to our customers with speed and reliability so that we can continue to unlock the next era of financial, creative and personal freedom with our simple reliable and secure products and services,” Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the Founders of Gemini, said.

Web3 and Metaverse

According to the details shared by Gemini, Tiwana will work closely with all the relevant departments within the company to develop innovative and efficient products related to Web3, Decentralization and the Metaverse. In a LinkedIn post, Tiwana highlighted the changing crypto landscape and the growing popularity of decentralized Metaverse.

“Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss have brought me aboard to help Gemini move fast. I, along with my team, will build software and architecture that delivers value to our customers with speed and reliability. In doing so, we will help unlock the next era of financial, creative and personal freedom with our simple reliable, and secure products and services,” Tiwana said.
