R3 Promotes Marc Liew to Head of Ecosystem Development for APAC

Finance Magnates has learned that Marc Liew has been promoted to Head of Ecosystem Development for the APAC region at R3.

According to an update on LinkedIn, he has been working as the Head of APAC Venture Development for nearly two years, and when joining the company, Liew started his tenure as the Director of Technology Partnerships.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting the new position as Head of Ecosystem Development, APAC at R3! It’s been exciting to witness the progress of the Corda enterprise blockchain platform in ushering the digital transformation of existing financial market infrastructure to provide the foundation for the future of regulated open digital finance for all,” he commented.

Liew added: “We look forward to continue supporting the digital transformation journeys of our customers, technology partners, regulatory friends and the global developer community who believed in our mission from Day 1.”

Background

Prior to joining R3, he was employed by Silot.ai as Chief Growth Officer for one year. Also, he worked for about two years as the Head of Greater China and the APAC Expansion Lead at Braintree. Moreover, he helped in the Braintree APAC expansion at PayPal between 2015 and 2017.

Liew worked as the Head of Business Development for Salesworks Group Asia between 2013 and 2015 and as the Business Development Manager for one year at Fiserv in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

According to his educational background, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in China Business, Strategy, Landscape and Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and an MBA from the University of Manchester.

Furthermore, Liew earned a Corda Certified Developer certification from R3 and a Venture Deals certification from Kauffman Fellows.
