Richard Hills Moves from SocGen to big xyt

Richard Hills has taken up a new role as Head of Client Engagement at big xyt, an independent provider of market Analytics , the company announced today.

London-based, he will work alongside Mark Montgomery, head of strategy and business development at the firm.

Hills joins big xyt from Societe Generale, where he spent more than 18 years.

He had joined the bank as program director and COO in 2001 and became the global head of cash equities execution at the same time.

In his new role at big xyt, Hills will help to drive client innovation using a partnership engagement model.

Hills will be responsible for promoting client awareness of big xyt’s products and services.

This will enable the firm to observe the market, benchmark and analyze its executions, and increasingly integrate big xyt’s technology into the firm’s daily workflow for the benefit of their own clients.

“The investment industry is undergoing rapid and fundamental change, driven by greater passive investment, falling fees and more regulation. I see scalable, high performance technology and data driven automation as the key to survival and success. Big xyt’s Best Execution and Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) off-the-shelf analytics products demonstrate the power of this new architecture,” Hill said.

“I am looking forward to working with the team and enabling clients, including exchanges, sell-side and buy-side firms, to Leverage the big xyt product portfolio to gain greater insights in support of their investment decisions and execution strategies,” he added.

big xyt has been collecting, curating, storing, and normalizing granular tick and trade data for several years in order to help market participants understand the industry landscape and their interactions within it.

“We are excited to have Richard on board to further increase our opportunities, His enthusiasm and expertise will help accelerate our growth with new clients and also provide additional levels of sophistication,” says Robin Mess, CEO at big xyt.
