Richard Metcalfe has joined the Bank of England’s Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee (FXJSC), following a recent announcement from the UK Central Bank’s minutes.

Mr. Metcalfe joins the Bank of England (BoE) from Investment Management Association (IMA), where he worked as the Director of Regulatory Affairs. The BoE has been in focus lately following the uneven performance of the British pound and its subsequent actions that have caused it to hit a 13-month low recently vs. the USD.

The IMA itself represents the UK investment management industry, while its comprising members have over £5 trillion of assets under management. In this role, he worked closely with other IMA Directors, notably those in the Public Policy realm, Capital Markets and Risk, Compliance & Legal.
