Retail trading firm Saxo Bank announced on Monday that it has appointed Niels Jorgensen to a newly-created position - chief SaxoExperience officer.
The Dane, who will take up the new role in mid-August, will also be working as global head of Marketing and communications.
"I am very excited that Niels will be joining us,” said Kim Fournais, Saxo Bank’s chief executive officer and founder.
“He has a unique background to help us build a world class SaxoExperience and he shares our purpose and virtues.”
According to a statement released by Saxo Bank, Jorgensen will be a part of the Saxo Bank executive team. The marketing executive will also have to report directly to Fournais.
LEGO Hitman
Jorgensen joins Saxo Bank from LEGO Group where he has been since 2013.
Initially working as company vice president, he was in charge of the firm's digital business.
In January of 2017, he was promoted and moved into a more commercial role, managing the toy company’s French and Iberian business operations from its Paris office.
Prior to that position, he worked as the CEO and chief financial officer of IO Interactive - a Danish video game company that developed the Hitman franchise.
According to Saxo Bank’s statement, Jorgensen will be focusing his efforts on developing customer experience at the trading firm.
Noting its customers increasing demands, the company said that “enhancing the SaxoExperience for clients… is a strategic priority.”
“The financial sector is in the middle of several massive challenges and we see across industries how winners are relentlessly putting [their] clients first,” said Jorgensen.
“I am really fascinated by this change and eager to join Saxo Bank on the journey to deliver world class services to clients.”
