Saxo Capital Markets (SCM), an online trading specialist, announced today that Eleanor Creagh has been appointed to the role of Australia Markets Strategist. The move will see Creagh working on investment strategies and quantitative models in a newly-created position.
Commenting on the move, Ben Smoker, CEO of SCM in Australia, said: “Our clients are always looking to gain deeper insights into what drives markets and where the opportunities are. We are pleased to have Eleanor on board. She is an expert in her field, who will no doubt add significant value to Saxo’s Global Sales Trading team, helping local traders and investors find signals amid market noise.”
Creagh joins SCM from JB Markets where she worked on the derivatives dealing desk. She has also worked as a relationship manager for relationship manager for KnowledgebankIQ, a wealth management advisory firm.
Australian Equities
In her new role, Creagh will be responsible for monitoring and implementing equity strategies and research for traders and investors of all levels. She will also help build quantitative models and mathematical trading frameworks for in SCM’s institutional clients.
In their statement, SCM noted that the goal of the newly-created role was to provide support to the global sales team by providing trading ideas and market insights. As such, Creagh will be reporting to the Saxo Bank Group’s Chief Economist, Chief Investment Strategist, Steen Jakobsen, as well as the aforementioned Ben Smoker.
Creagh will start her role with a focus on the Australian equities market. SCM stated that overtime, her remit will expand to take in the Asia-Pacific equities market too.
