On 30 June 2022, Robbie Ensor announced in a LinkedIn post that he is moving into a part-time role with Axi, an online financial trading services provider. In addition, he is leaving Sydney after almost seven years.

Ensor has been working with Axi for more than 3 years. He joined the company in April 2019 as the Head of Financial Control. In his professional career, he worked with several leading names in the financial services industry, including RBC Capital Markets and Merrill Lynch.

Nomura Singapore Picks Tan Tee How as Chairman

Recently, Nomura Singapore announced that the company has appointed Tan Tee How as the Chairman of its Board of Directors. Moreover, Nomura Singapore has picked How as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Nomura Asia Pacific Holdings.

She is a trained accounting professional and brings more than a decade of experience to the new role.

Shi joined Capital.com from Dacxi, a technology company in the cryptocurrency space, where she was the Head of Finance for a year.

Kian Hoe Tan Joins HKEX as Managing Director and Head of Treasury

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited announced that Kian Hoe Tan, the former Managing Director and Head of Treasury Markets for Greater China and North Asia at Standard Chartered, will join the exchange as the Managing Director and Head of Treasury on 4 July.

In his new role, Tan will report to Vanessa Lau, the Group Chief Financial Officer at HKEX. Due to his broad experience in financial markets, Tan will play an important role in driving the Treasury strategy of HKEX.

Finance Magnates learned of two executive moves at BDSwiss: one promotion and one departure from the brokerage. George Papasavva was promoted to Senior Account and Business Development Manager, while Costa Joannides left the firm, where he has been working as Head of Business Development.

Prior to his promotion at BDSwiss, Papasavva was a Senior Account Manager in charge of VIP Clients Retention for over three years. Before joining the broker, he worked as a Representative for WorldVentures Holdings. Moreover, he was recruited by Hoch Capital to the position of Senior Account Manager.

CMC Markets Appoints Sam Horowitz as Head of FX Distribution and Liquidity Management

Recently, Finance Magnates learned that Sam Horowitz joined CMC Markets Connect as its Head of FX Distribution and Liquidity Management. Before becoming a part of the institutional team, Horowitz advised CMC Markets on their wholesale expansion.

During his 30-year career in financial services, he has built and managed trading businesses at Rabobank, UBS Asset Management, Louis Capital FX, Lloyds Bank and Marex Spectron. This was all before joining BBVA to lead Global Markets eFX Trading. During his tenure at BBVA, Horowitz served as the Head of Automated Trading and Risk, and as the Vice President of e-FX Trading.

Equals Money Hires Tom Kiddle as Chief Commercial Officer

Equals Money hired Tom Kiddle as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer. He is based in London and has already started the role.

Equals Money is the business-to-business (B2B) division of the group. Its offerings include international payments, expense management, faster payments and a white-label broker platform.

Though Kiddle did not reveal his responsibilities at the company, he will be a crucial addition to its executive team. Moreover, he joined the company when it shifted its focus from the retail space to B2B segments. Previously, the revenue of the company climbed 52 percent in 2021 to touch £44.1 million. Its gross profits reached £24 million, which was a year-on-year jump of 31 percent.

Barclays Picks Arif Vohra as Co-Head of FIG in EMEA

At the beginning of the week, Barclays announced the expansion of its team when hiring Arif Vohra, an industry veteran with almost 25 years of experience in the financial sector, as the Co-Head of Investment Banking Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Vohra will co-lead the business with Enrique Pinel from September. In his new role, Vohra will report to Tim Main and will also work closely with Gary Antenberg, the Head of FIG Americas, to accelerate Barclays expansion.

In his broad career, Vohra has served in different senior-level positions with some of the top names in the global financial services sector. Vohra joins Barclays from Bank of America where he co-led the FIG investment banking business of the company in EMEA.
