Canadian multi-national bank Scotiabank (NYSE: BNS) has unveiled a new tranche of appointments as part of its new digital strategy across several markets in North and Latin America, per a group statement.

The new appointments are: Jeff Marshall (Canada), Fuencis Gomez (Mexico), Peru (Luis Torres), Daniel Kennedy (Chile), and Marcelino Herrera Vegas (Colombia).

Scotiabank’s new appointees will aim to help the group improve its regional customer focus, thereby expanding its digital sales capabilities across its international footprint with an emphasis innovation. All five hires will be reporting to Shawn Rose, who is Scotiabank’s Executive Vice President (VP), Digital Banking, and the architect behind the bank’s global digital strategy.

Multi-national Focus

Each individual will also lead multi-disciplinary teams of designers, developers, Analytics experts, and digital marketers, working in tandem with the Digital Factory of the country that they are stationed in.

According to Mr. Rose, in a recent statement on the strategy and hires: "Customers have high expectations for digital banking experiences and that's why Scotiabank is working to redefine how we meet the needs of customers and how we deliver simple, personalized banking experiences. These leaders have grown up in the digital and e-commerce spaces, and we will benefit from their fresh perspectives -- we are very excited about what this team can achieve."
