The moves have already been approved by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), which emphasize SIX’s commitment to regulation and trading oversight domestically. As such, the Management Committee of SIX Exchange Regulation under Corinne Riguzzi will be fully staffed following the appointments.
Mr. Sheikh will be officially appointed as the Head of Listing & Enforcement. His most recent stint was at UBS AG in Asset Management for nearly a decade, having led a team of legal experts. Jared Bibler steps into the role of Head of Surveillance & Enforcement.
According to Romeo Lacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors at SIX, in a statement on the appointments: "SIX Exchange Regulation makes an important contribution to ensuring the integrity of the Swiss financial sector. It also plays a key role in the implementation of new financial market regulations.”
“I am delighted that we have two experienced experts on board who will be able to bring their skills to bear on forthcoming projects to the benefit of the Swiss financial industry and of its participants,” he added.
