Societe Generale has tapped one of its longtime executives and veteran banker, Sadia Ricke, as its newest Head of Global Finance in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) ) region. She is poised to be a key player in the group’s UK business as well heading into 2017 and beyond, according to a Reuters report.

Ricke has been a mainstay at Societe Generale for over a decade, having originally joined the lender back in 2003, serving in a multitude of roles across both the APAC region and Europe. In her new role Ms. Ricke will be focusing on spearheading Societe Generale’s business out of the UK starting in January 2017.
Ms. Ricke has worked in several roles over her time at Societe Generale, including positions as its Global Head and Deputy Head of Structured Commodity Finance & Mining, Co-Deputy Head of Natural Resources & Energy, and most recently as its Head of Global Finance – APAC.

Moreover, she will be assuming the mantle of command as the UK Country Head and Head of Coverage and Investment Banking (CIB) division in the UK from Ian Fisher, who by extension has also found himself in a new role as its Global Head of Credit Risk - Corporate & Investment Banking, among other roles.
For his part, Mr. Fisher will begin his new role in October 2016, still heading the UK business at the lender for the duration of the year. He has already served as the bank’s UK country head for the past seven years, part of a twenty-year career with Societe Generale.
