FCA-regulated firm Society Financial has appointed FX veteran Tom Tragett as chief market analyst, who joins the team with over three decades of experience in the financial services industry.
In his new role at Society Financial, Tragett will help focus on augmenting the broker’s market information capabilities, specifically in relation to clients, while also generating a diverse blend of market reports, updates, and analyses for the company’s overall clientele.
Tragett has spent the multitude of his career as a currency strategist, consultant, and premier researcher. He also traded FX, commodities, futures, options, and indices for own account and advised private/retail clients on FX trading strategies.
Tragett joins Society Financial from Fixi PLC, which ceased operations in December 2018 after consulting with the FCA and had its client funds frozen by the UK financial regulator.
Prior to joining Fixi PLC, he worked with Fleet Street Publications where he held various editorial roles for almost ten years. Most recently, he served as the group’s editor of ‘Currency Wars Alert' where he was advising retail customers on G10 FX trading strategies. He also spent six years leading the company’s 'Forex Insider Daily' publication.
Prior experience dates back to 1976
Past stops include ODL Securities where he was trading in house using client funds under the Forexmax brand, and proprietary FX trader at RZB London, among others.
The vast majority of his positions have been relegated to the field of foreign Exchange (FX). During his tenure with several brokers, he hosted numerous investor/trader shows and events. He also hosted all-day seminars and workshops and published technical/fundamental analysis, his LinkedIn shows.
Earlier in his career, Tragett worked as Chief FX Trader at Asahi Bank London from 1998 to 2001, where he managed a small team of six traders and was also tasked with overseeing FX sales function.
