State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT) today announced several new hires and promotions across its Currenex unit, the company’s technology provider for the global FX community. The moves illustrate the implementation of its growth strategy aimed to consistently enhance the scope of services it offers to a diverse client base of global banks, corporates, hedge funds, investment managers and brokers. State Street has named James Reilly Global Head of Currenex. He will be tasked with expanding the business and creating new partnerships. This move snaps a three-year stint at Cantor Fitzgerald. Mr. Reilly brings variedexperience, having also served as executive director and co-head of FX Prime Brokerage at Morgan Stanley, overseeing operations across New York, London, and Hong Kong. In addition, Mr. Reilly gathered experience in the field of FX at JPMorgan. State Street made another hire to its FX Execution venue, bringing in Beverley Doherty as its Global Head of FX Connect. Prior to this position, she worked as the COO and North American head for GlobalLink, State Street’s suite of e-trading platforms, technology, data and workflow solutions. Ms. Doherty’s career with State Street includes other stops with Currenex’s business development and corporate sales. Finally, State Street has promoted longtime company mainstay, Stephen Dispenza, to the role of Global Head of Sales for Currenex. Mr. Dispenza has held several senior level roles at State Street – most recently, the position of North American Head of Sales. Commenting on the appointments, Martine Bond, Head of GlobalLink, noted: “I’m very pleased to welcome James to our team as well as announce the promotions of David, Stephen and Beverley. David’s expanded role will allow him to focus on leveraging technology across platforms and creating synergies in GlobalLink’s core execution and trading platforms, and will help us better meet our clients challenges in the FX industry. I’m also excited to have James on board as his reputation as a leader and innovator gives me great confidence in his ability to bring our business to the next level.”
