State Street Corporation has secured the services of Effie Datson as its newest Global Head of Product for its Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) division, according to a recent Reuters report.

In her newly created role as the global head of product, Datson’s focus will be relegated to augmenting the global footprint of InfraHedge, State Street’s $15 billion managed account platform. She will also be based out of London where she will report to George Sullivan, State Street’s Global Head of Alternative Investment Solutions.

In addition, she will be assuming the mantle of responsibility for developing State Street’s InfraHedge offering. Ms. Datson joins State Street from Deutsche Bank having worked as its global co-head of hedge fund sales.

According to a recent statement from Mr. Sullivan on the appointment, “There is a huge opportunity in the managed accounts space as large asset owners start to take much greater direct control over their investments and behave increasingly like asset managers. Effie’s global experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our alternatives business.”
