HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Stuart White as Global Head of Strategy and UK and International Chief Executive Officer, the firm announced today.
He replaces Andy Clark as UK CEO, who left the company to pursue other opportunities, according to the fund manager.
Clark had spent more than 14 years at the firm. He joined HSBC GAM as a Managing Director in 2005 and became CEO in late 2012.
Prior to that, he was Head of Retail Distribution at DWS Investments for more than three years.
White has worked as Head of Strategy at HSBC GAM since 2015, responsible for strategy, planning, and Chief of Staff activities.
New responsibilities
In his newly-expanded role, he will now help to deliver the firmβs strategic program, future strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate management activities.
White is still reporting to global CEO Nicolas Moreau and will now oversee the firmβs entities in the UK, Bermuda, Malta, and Turkey. He will also have oversight responsibilities for asset management activities in Saudi Arabia and for Hang Seng Investment Management Limited in Hong Kong.
Moreau became CEO at HSBC GAM in September 2019.
Earlier in his career, he was Head of Deutsche Asset Management. He also worked at DWS Group in Frankfurt and was CEO at AXA UK and AXA France in Paris.
White is looking back at over two decades of industry experience. He first joined HSBC GAM in 2010. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Threadneedle Asset Management and Insight Investment.
