Sucden Financial Adds Barry Gershon To Its LME Team

Sucden Financial announced today that it has secured the services of Barry Gershon, the former Global Head of Metals Trading for Jefferies Bache, to further bolster its strong metals presence. The new role will primarily focus on business development in Europe and the Americas, leveraging Gershon’s wealth of industry experience.

Gershon joins Sucden Financial having been involved in base metals trading for over three decades, starting his LME career in 1979. He joined Prudential Bache in 1985 and was Global Head of Base Metals from 2003, until the sale of the Jefferies trading unit in 2015. The company also recently welcomed back former trading veteran, Chris Adams, to its LME trading team, as reported by Finance Magnates in March 2016.

In a statement on the appointment, Michael Overlander, CEO of Sucden Financial, said: “We are excited that Barry is joining our already very strong LME team. Both his knowledge and network will enhance our international base metals business and this appointment complements our recent recruitment of Chris Adams.”

Marc Bailey, Managing Director of Sucden Financial, further added: “I am delighted to be working with Barry again. At Jefferies Bache, he created a lot of value within the metals business and I am pleased that he has agreed to bring his expertise here to Sucden Financial.”
